NOEL Story

Geetha John
1986 Batch

As an alumnus of NIT Calicut, graduating with a degree in civil engineering in the batch of 1982-86, I feel immensely blessed to be able to “do what I love and love what I do.” The journey toward achieving this dream has been filled with challenges, each driving me closer to the success I cherish today.

After graduating from NIT in 1986, I pursued a PG diploma in computer application, which I completed in 1987. My career began as a junior engineer at M/s. P.T. Krishnan Architect in Chennai. In 1989, I married Mr. John Thomas, a mechanical engineer, and we moved to Delhi. In Delhi, I worked with M/s CES (India) Pvt Ltd . These initial years were a steep learning curve, demanding not only technical acumen but also perseverance and adaptability. Balancing our professional commitments with the demands of a new marriage was challenging, but it strengthened our resolve and partnership.

The dream of entrepreneurship led us back to Ernakulam, Kerala, where we embarked on our entrepreneurial journey in 1995. Though we came with the intention of starting a Structural Design firm in Kochi, finally we decided to start a villa project. Starting our first villa project was fraught with difficulties. The entire activity, right from planning to execution, was handled in a briefcase – working out of a bag, handling everything from paperwork and material selection to masonry, electrical, and plumbing work ourselves. This hands-on approach provided us with an intimate understanding of every aspect of the construction industry, right from getting the approvals from the authorities till we get the completion certificate. Our inaugural project, Noel Mansions, marked the beginning of our journey toward becoming seasoned builders.

First challenge is creating a bold & ahead of time conceptualization of the building and getting all the approvals from the concerned authorities.  Next challenge is completing the project on time to the satisfaction of the customers.  This involves monthly/weekly/daily planning of the work, arranging the materials and labour and executing it on time.  We could achieve all these with the support of Architects, Structural consultants and MEP consultants. A dedicated team of Noel staff was always present.

The challenges we faced in the initial stages were daunting, but they taught us invaluable lessons and honed our skills. The success of Noel Mansions paved the way for the establishment of “Noel Villas and Apartments,” a brand that now boasts over 30 projects.

Building homes is my passion, and we take pride in creating dream houses for our customers under our tagline, “Passion for Premium.” For us, quality encompasses life, environment, structure, innovative building techniques, and aesthetics.

Each Noel project is distinguished by its eco-friendly, green building concepts. We strive to construct homes that are happy, secure, and healthy living spaces, where each family becomes part of a larger Noel community.  In NOEL, there are no customers, everyone is a family.

Factors behind success of NOEL are what any business needs. commitment, honesty, trust, delivering promised on time,  In addition, innovative designs and excellent after sales service played an important role.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize that the quote by David McCulloch, “Real success is finding your life’s work in the work that you love,” has been a guiding light. My upbringing in a God-fearing family with strict values, has deeply influenced my life. Today, I relish my roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, while also enjoying my roles as a technical head, mentor, and friend within the Noel family.

The education I received in engineering, the career experiences I accumulated, the unwavering support of my life partner, and the blessings of God Almighty have enabled me to be part of a journey that builds dreams and fosters a wholesome community living on strong foundations.
