NITC Alumni Association Cochin Chapter established one of the largest private scholarship programs for engineering students in Kerala. It’s a merit-cum-means scholarship program awarded to selected students at Engineering colleges in Kerala for the entire four-year course at Rs 20,000 per year. There are stringent selection criteria, and each applicant is evaluated by an expert committee every year.

This scholarship is started in the year 2012 with a seed funding from Dr. P V Chandramohan and the award committee headed by Dr. Babu T Jose decided to give as scholarship to most deserving engineering students from NITC, Govt and aided engineering colleges in India starting from AY 2012-13. 88 students have been awarded so far. About 15 students are selected in a year making this one the largest program of such kind.

Selection Criteria:

Once the admission process for the academic year is completed by NITC, Govt and aided Engineering colleges in Kerala, usually by end Oct, we request for list of prospective students from these colleges approved by Head of Institution recommended by Head of department. The list will be scrutinized by the Scholarship committee based on the various academic and non-academic criteria:

Based on the application received we will shortlist candidates and an online interview will be conducted before the final selection is made. Guidelines and adherence to strict selection processes ensure that only most deserving students are awarded.

This scholarship is funded by generous contribution of NITC alumni members. Typically, one Alumni sponsors one student for the entire course (Rs 80,000). Also, joint sponsorship (batch wise or location wise) is also possible.
